Seasonal Shedding?

Summer's just around the corner here in Earth's northern hemisphere, and my cat's shedding like the dickens all over furniture. But it got me wondering: Do humans go through seasonal sheds like other mammals do? I haven't changed my haircare routine much lately, but starting last month, I noticed I was shedding a little more than usual. This was after I noticed my ends had thickened up around December. The shedding seems to have slowed down a bit, and now I'm curious about the whole thing.

Have any of you noticed or experienced seasonal shedding? If so, how do you deal with it?

I don't really get noticeable seasonal shedding, but I think if you style your hair seasonally, that might happen for you. Or if you don't and your hair is affected by the heat (sweat maybe) that might happen. I'm going to be watching for seasonal shedding for a week now.

Late reply is laaaaaate. My apologies.

I don't really do seasonal styles. I don't flat iron my hair in summer, either. Does that count as a seasonal style? I tend to war buns year 'round, so there's that.

My shed rate has gone back to normal, btw. Interesting.

How were your observations?

I like braids in the summer, and I sweat more when I just have a combed out fro, so Idk. A lot of people notice a lot of hair comes out with braids, so I always figured that was it.

i experienced a lot of shedding as fall transitioned to winter. don't know if it was truly seasonal but i did start using sheamoisture's thickening/anti-breaking conditioner in response and it seemed to help.
